Indians take court under new head coach
The Indians got off to a great start defensively, leading 10-2 after the first eight minutes of action. The Cardinals stormed back in the second quarter, hitting four threes and outscoring UC 27-5 to take a 29-15 advantage at the break.
Despite a decent second half of scoring, defensively the Indians could not stop Seton’s Billie Webster and the Cardinal offense. Unable to comeback from the dismal second quarter and 12 three-pointers made by Seton in the game, UC fell by a final score of 66-48.
“Despite the loss, I am really happy with the way the guys played out there tonight,” said Coach Davison. “We have only had a few days to practice, so we had some transition pains out there that showed. We will have a week to get ready for our next game and that will help a bunch.”
Union City was led in scoring by senior Tyler Thornhill with 14 points, followed by senior Isaac Jeffris and junior Zach Bradbury who added 8 points each in the effort.
The Indians will be back in action next Friday as they travel to Daleville for another non-conference game.
