UNION CITY STRUGGLES DEFENSIVELY, FALLS TO SETON CATHOLIC
The Indians traveled to Richmond on Monday to take on the Seton Catholic Cardinals at historic McBride Stadium. Union City had a lot of difficulty on the defensive side, and fell to the Cardinals, 9 - 3.
Jacob Fulk, (Jr), started on the hill for UC, and took the loss. "Fulk pitched a decent game, but his defensive just gave up way too many outs behind him," said Coach Bill Bradbury. The Indians defensive was the difference in the game. UC had 8 errors on the night. Fulk pitched 5 1/3 innings, giving up 5 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 6 batters. Jacob R. Moore, (So), came on to pitch 2/3 of an inning to close it out for UC.
Union City put up 8 hits in the contest. Dawson Thornburg, (Jr), and Jacob Curry, (So), each had two hits for the Indians. Zach Bradbury, (Jr), Trevor Spence, (Jr), Fulk, and Jacob Bradbury, (So) each added one hit for Union City.
The Indians fall to 8 - 10 on the season, and travel to Hagerstown on Thursday to take on the Tigers in a conference showdown.
