Errors Plague Union City Again As They Fall to the Bears
Union City's pitchers did not give up an earned run during the game. "Our pitchers held strong and did their part," said UC Coach, Bill Bradbury. "I would've liked to have seen fewer walks, but all in all, they did their job."
Junior pitcher, Jacob Fulk started for the Indians. Fulk pitched 3 1/3 innings, giving up only 2 hits, striking out 4 batters, and again, giving up no earned runs. Aaron Foster, (Sr.), came in for relief, and pitched 1 1/3 innings, giving up only 1 hit and no earned runs. Freshman pitcher, Nic Wells, came in to finish for the Indians. Wells pitched 1/3 of an inning, gave up one hit and struck out one batter, and also never gave up an earned run.
"We've got to do a better job behind our pitchers. They did their job. Our defense just needs to collect those outs," says Coach Bradbury.
Union City out hit Monroe Central, 5 hits to 4, but couldn't stop the bleeding from the errors. Cameron Luster, (So.), led the Indians with 2 hits, and Jacob Ciurry, (So.), and Jacob Bradbury, (So.), both had a hit and an RBI for Union City.
